Welcome to Med Student Haven! Started on the 5th of November, 2009, this site is run by a small but dedicated group of medical students looking to make med school just a bit easier by creating a central resource dedicated to the basic science foundations that every medical school has in its curriculum. We realize it is impossible to cater to each school, so we're using the national standard--USMLE Step 1--as a guide for the level of difficulty and detail to have on our site. In most cases, we will try to go a little bit beyond to encourage both ourselves and our peers to go the extra mile for the sake of our future patients. :-)

Founder's note

I think the most apt analogy I've ever heard was that med school is like having your mouth taped to an open fire hydrant and being told to chug. After my first few months seeing the efforts that my friends and I put into our notes, question banks, etc., I figured our efforts to learn everything shouldn't be repeated needlessly year after year--aren't med students around the world all studying the same basics? My goal is to have the best notes/diagrams/pictures/guides/quizzes to help future generations of medical students through the grind. This site still very much a work in progress, so please be patient with us as we add content (we're students too, remember), and keep checking back!

Happy studying!

Disclaimer

While we try our best to not have errors, we're human too, so bear with us. The grand majority of you using the website know who we are, so you can just tell us. For the rest of you, we're setting up a comment form to let you submit bugs/issues.

Also, absolutely none of this website's material is to be taken as medical advice. It is purely information meant to be shared amongst medical students, and as such, if you're not one, please leave. There are much more official websites out there for general knowledge-seeking, and this is not the place to be unless you're a health professional or training to be one. Thanks. :-)
